Pastoring Through a Pandemic

I’ve said it before but pastoring during a pandemic is not for the faint of heart. Decisions have to be made each week that some will like and others won’t. Have church. Don’t have church. Mask. No mask. Voices everywhere. Fingers pointing everywhere. Distractions that try to rip us away from what’s most important. Opinions from people who haven’t prayed over the church like you have. Opinions from people who haven’t sacrificed for the church like you have. Opinions from people who don’t live Sunday to Sunday like you do.

The whole time there’s the Word of God , the final authority, looking directly at you. There’s faith, the very foundation of the gospel, looking at you. While everyone watches and waits for you next move. The word and faith stand silent. Choose the shouts from the crowd or choose what you know is right. Risk persecution and anger or trust God.

It isn’t the most traveled road but I choose faith and the word. I choose falling on my face before a God who can answer. I choose digging into the word to find what God says about it.

It’s definitely not for the faint at heart but the ones that endure to the end will be saved. It’s definitely not easy but the gates of hell will not prevail!!!

Pray for your Pastor, you have no idea how difficult this season is. He or she has never pastored in a time like this. Hold them up and pray for wisdom and guidance.
