Just Do It

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

In II Kings 4, there’s a story about a prophet who goes into a room and finds a dead boy on the bed. The scripture says that God told the prophet to do something. He laid down on the child, put his mouth on the child’s mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And he stretched himself out on that child, and the flesh of the dead child began to warm.

The next verse says that the prophet returned and did it again—he stretched himself out two times. An impossibility became a reality when this man of God stretched. When he stretched, what was given up was given back. What was lost was restored. God wants you to step outside of your comfort zone during certain seasons of your walk with Him. He wants you to attempt things that would be impossible without His help.

Miracles, provision, and opportunities are waiting, not in the comfort zone but in the stretch. When the prophet stretched out over the child, it covered up the problem. When you stretch out in faith and believe in the promises of God over your life, you make your faith bigger than the obstacle you’re facing. You couldn’t even see that boy when the prophet laid over the top of him. He covered up the problem with his faith. When the prophet stretched, the boy sneezed seven times and came back to life!

In John 2:5, Mary, Jesus's mother, told the servants when Jesus was ready to make water into wine, “Whatsoever He says to you, do it.” The same goes for you today. Whatever He says, just do it. Quit whining and worrying about failing, and just do it!
